Why Does High Line Park Director Robert Hammond Make More Than NYC Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe?

Benepe makes $45,000 less than the $250,000 a year Hammond now makes as director of the Friends of the High Line, the nonprofit that oversees the West Side's newest park. That means Hammond makes more than his counterpart at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, which is roughly 78 times the size. Is it because he's a cute, eligible gay and the park is in Chelsea? Come on, just tell us. [NYT]
