William Safire, Columnist and Speechwriter, Has Died

The New York Times reports that famed columnist, pundit, journalist, essayist, novelist, linguist, and Nixon speechwriter William Safire died today of pancreatic cancer. He was 77. His Times obituary is an appropriately entertaining, but respectful, read. [NYT]
