Last night, the long media feud between Newark's hero-mayor Cory Booker and late night joke-maker Conan O'Brien came to a peaceful and expensive end, as the two convened a meeting of a new mutual admiration society. Conan introduced a "Newark Joke Jar," where he'll be depositing $500 every time he makes a joke at the troubled city's expense, and then went ahead and made his first joke (and donation). Then, Conan presented a large check from himself and his wife (matched by NBC) to Booker's Newark charity. The feud is over, and Mayor Cory Booker, who really is like Batman, emerged the clear winner. [NBC]
