Jon Stewart Blasts John McCain’s New Bill

  • 10/27/09 at 12:25 PM

On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart took on the important issue of net neutrality, if only to stick it to John McCain for his hilariously named "Internet Freedom Act of 2009," which would give telecommunications companies the freedom to slow down the Internet for individuals and companies who don't pay them enough. "It's kind of like creating a carpool lane on the Internet, only instead of high occupancy vehicles, only rich assholes would be able to drive on it." Stewart is quick to point out that McCain gets the most money from the telecommunications industry, and compares the opposite-day name of his bill to "Larry Craig's No Handjobs for Me, Thanks, Act of 2006." Meghan McCain should explain the Internet to her dad.
