Scientists Say Shroud of Turin Is Indeed a Fourteenth-Century Fake

An atheist group called the Italian Committee for Checking Claims on the Paranormal released a report that says that the shroud, which in religious legend wrapped the body of Jesus Christ before he was resurrected, could have been made in the fourteenth century with readily available materials, which a 1988 radiocarbon test had previously indicated. For whom exactly are these studies, anyway? The people who already don't believe in religious hype? Or the people who just go to see miraculous objects for the shred of hope it affords them that their ailments, sorrows, or hardships might one day be overturned? We've never known. [HuffPo]
