After crunching some numbers, the guys at First Read share a stat that truly demonstrates the vast personal investments that Mayor Bloomberg and Jon Corzine have made in their own campaigns through the years: Since 2000, these two individuals have shelled out a combined $338.8 million, a sum greater than the GDP of some island nations. But the real startling comparison is that in Seattle this year, the Democratic candidate for mayor has set a self-funding record by spending $230,000 of his own money. That's cute, Seattle.
