Bill O’Reilly: ‘We Can’t Kill All the Muslims’

  • 11/11/09 at 12:15 PM

The liberal blogosphere is all in a tizzy over the latest controversial clip from The O'Reilly Factor. In it, Bill O'Reilly says the following quote, in response to a guest talking about Fort Hood and terrorism, who just said "the problem here is Islam."

"Now let me play Devil's Advocate here. Barack Obama wants to win hearts and minds in the Middle East, in the Muslim world, which is a good thing. And you know that, as a soldier, we can't kill all the Muslims. So we want to win over as many hearts and minds of as many good, moderate Muslims as we can."

The interpretation that offended bloggers are drawing is that O'Reilly meant to say that winning hearts and minds is what we are forced to do since we can't kill every single one of the planet's 1 billion followers of Islam. Watch the clip and see what you think, and if it bothers you, be sure to watch O'Reilly's program tonight. If there's anything he loves and does with particular vigor, it's defending himself and heckling his detractors.
