Governor Paterson Open to Replacing Mandatory License-Plate Fee With Other Arbitrary Fee
Well, that didn't take long. Governor Paterson has heard New Yorkers' complaints about having to purchase new $25 license plates, and he's willing to scrap the whole plan ... if the $129 million the fee is expected to generate for the state can be made up elsewhere. How about mandatory $25 windshield wipers — would anyone have a problem with that? [NYP]
