The map on the left shows the results of Tuesday's mayoral race red represents votes for Bloomberg, blue for Thompson. The map on the right shows the density of white people throughout New York City according to the 2000 census red is a high percentage of white people, yellow is a fair preponderance of white people, and green is not that many white people. That white areas of the city tended to vote more for Bloomberg and non-white areas voted more for Thompson is not a shocking revelation, but it's still kind of striking to see how closely the two maps align.
