In honor of today's NYC Marathon, the New York Times has a story about the approximately 0.01% of marathon runners who cheat (at least 46 last year), either by taking a shortcut or by giving their numbered bibs to faster runners. Men and women are represented equally in this strange little club, the most famous of whom was Rosie Ruiz, who took the subway in the 1979 marathon. It's all very funny, because why bother? [NYT]
