Bernie Kerik, the former NYPD commissioner who was acting a little nutty inside his jail cell last week, is not crazy after all, according to a federal judge.

Authorities discharged Kerik from a special unit today after determining he is no risk to himself or others. That wasn't so clear last week when Kerik was placed under observation for a "psychiatric assessment in the context of psychosocial stressors" because he was acting super weird. What exactly he was doing that was so damn weird (and not just regular weird, but jail weird) remains unknown. But this line from NBC's story may provide a clue: "In court Monday Kerik, dressed in a pin stripped suit, was wearing a tie, which had been noticeably absent last week." He wasn't wearing a tie last week! Mad man!
