After dragging the nation into a relationship drama that has spanned over two years, Elizabeth Edwards and John Edwards have finally, blessedly separated, People magazine confirmed this week.

"She said, 'I've had it. I can't do this. I want my life back,' " her sister, Nancy Anania, told the magazine.

A friend named Andrea Purse gave the AP a similar story:

"Elizabeth is moving on with her life and wants to put this difficult chapter behind her," she said.
