For the Next 30 Days, Harold Ford Jr. Is Not an Evil Banker

Tennessean New Yorker Harold Ford Jr., increasingly serious about running for Senate, is taking a 30-day leave from his not quite politically helpful day job as a vice-chairman at Bank of America Merill Lynch so he can concentrate on “listening to New Yorkers and discussing his goals as an independent Democrat.” Ford will be traveling to Long Island and upstate next week, presumably by helicopter, where he may or may not refuse to talk about the issues he cares so much about.
