Harlem Is Getting Whiter
There goes the neighborhood.
Harlem is slowly but surely getting whiter, the Times reports today. “It was a combination of location and affordability,” says new Harlem resident Laura Murray, a 31-year-old graduate student in medical anthropology at Columbia whose race the paper does not specify, possibly because the following quote subtly reveals it: “I feel a community here that I don’t feel in other parts of the city.” Must be all that dancing and music!
