Barack and Michelle Obama, and maybe Sasha, Malia and Bo, have donated $15,000 from their personal bank account to the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said they were inspired to give by the millions of Americans who donated in these tough economic times. Which seems like a pretty stupid thing to say since those millions of Americans didn’t need inspiration beyond a desire to help the victims of the catastrophe. But whatever, a donation is a donation.
