As an actor, I spend all day pretending.

Sure! I’ve done New York as a starving actor, and I’m sure I could do it again.

Present Laughter with Victor Garber. Delightful!
Do you give money to panhandlers?
As a rule no, but just before filling out this questionnaire, I bought a woman a hot dog on the street.
What’s your drink?
Coffee. If we’re talking booze, Jack Daniel’s.
How often do you prepare your own meals?
Rarely … PB&J is my only real specialty. Otherwise I just pick at things until I’m full, which I would NOT call a meal.
What’s your favorite medication?
Pepto, after I pick at things till I’m full.
What’s hanging above your sofa?
Three pieces: a mirror thing from my mom, a framed photo, and an odd painting. None of them really match.
How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
I’ve never spent more than 50 bucks, but usually get them paid for, an actor perk. Curly hair can kind of grow and grow, and if the producers don’t like it, they can pay for the cut!
When’s bedtime?
My eyelids usually tell me.
Which do you prefer, the old Times Square or the new Times Square?
As a cyclist, new Times Square is actually doable.
What do you think of Donald Trump?
He spends too much on his haircut.
What do you hate most about living in New York?
The extremes, cold and hot. Getting on a train going the wrong direction.
Who is your mortal enemy?
Anyone who thinks they can actually be “real” when they’re knowingly being filmed.
When’s the last time you drove a car?
Not long ago. I brought my beat-up Honda Civic hybrid with me from L.A.
How has the economic downturn affected your life?
I’ve been lucky to have a job through it all; ask me again in a year.
