Conservative Party Gives Rick Lazio Its Seal of Approval
Rick Lazio got a little bit closer to shoring up the Republican nomination for governor last night when the state Conservative Party officially endorsed the former U.S. Representative. The boost comes a day after former Democrat Steve Levy announced he was switching parties to run on the Republican ticket. This is a big, though not unexpected, win for Lazio. A Republican has never won statewide office without support of the Conservative Party. [NYP]
