Sarah Palin Is Now in a Rap Beef

Sarah Palin’s new show — the one with schmaltzy stories of courage and overcoming obstacles, Real American Stories, not the one about Alaska — is debuting tomorrow night (April Fools’ Day, as many have pointed out) on Fox News, and yet it has already managed to become mired in its very own rap beef. See, among the personalities being touted for the show’s premiere are Toby Keith, Jack Welch, and LL Cool J. If the final guest seemed like a surprising choice (though maybe not as surprising as it should have been — LL endorsed Republican George Pataki for governor in 2002), the sentiment was ultimately warranted, apparently.

Because last night, LL Cool J tweeted of a conspiracy:

Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW.”

WOW indeed, Mr. Cool J. Palin’s first episode didn’t even air yet and she’s already repurposing old footage to fill out her lineup? What’s her Alaska show going to consist of, Northern Exposure reruns?
