The way the nightly TV news covered today’s Goldman Sachs hearings, you’d have thought they’d never heard a swear word before. Pretty much every single program took the time to gleefully harp on Carl Levin’s repeated use of the word that, as Chris Matthews put it, “rhymes with ditty.”
