President Obama Just Barely Winning the Book-Royalty War With Joe Biden

The financial-disclosure forms of President Obama and Vice-President Biden were released by the White House today — “in the interests of transparency,” Norm Eisen, special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform, proudly proclaims — confirming that Obama is still raking in that sweet book money: between $1 million and $5 million in royalties last year (it doesn’t get more specific) for both Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope. We’re pretty sure Obama will live comfortably on those books for the rest of his life. Biden’s book royalties — yes, Biden wrote a book, too, it’s called Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, and we’re sure it’s great — weren’t quite as impressive: They totaled somewhere between $0 and $200 in 2009. That’s classic Biden right there.
