Well, that didn’t take long. Hours after a New Orleans judge overturned the president’s six-month moratorium on offshore drilling, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced he will issue a new order reinstating the temporary ban, which will explain why the restriction is essential and “eliminate any doubt that [it] is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities.” Meanwhile, Martin Feldman, the judge who struck down the moratorium this morning, apparently owns stock in drilling companies.
