Half of Lower Manhattan Subway Lines May Be Swarming With Rats

According to a rodent expert, about half of lower Manhattan train lines are either infested with rats or show “conditions ripe for attracting them.” Not only is this gross (apparently “hundreds of rats” can be living in just one wall of the rooms where subway trash is stored), it’s also a safety issue: “[J]umpy riders can fall off platforms when surprised by rats,” the Post explains. Now that would be an appropriate occasion for an FML tweet. [NYP]
