It’s Official: Gay Men’s Health Crisis to Move to 33rd Street

We’ve been keeping you posted on the controversial move of HIV/AIDS service organization Gay Men’s Health Crisis since word started leaking about it back in April. The group will officially leave the Tisch Building, its longtime headquarters on West 24th Street, to move into more spacious quarters in the AP and Daily News building on 33rd Street on the Far West Side. The lease will save GMHC $24 million over its term, but critics like Larry Kramer worry that limitations on the new space (no cafeteria, awkward location) will hamper the group’s effectiveness.
