A flock of 21 ibises in the Bronx Zoo have not been having sex for about seven years, for some reason. Perhaps they just got tired of each other after so many years in the same confined space. Or, maybe it just takes a little extra something for one unattractive ibis to get aroused by another unattractive ibis. Whatever the cause, the birds got in the mood once a zoo ornithologist piped some “sexy mating calls” into the enclosure like a bird version of an Isaac Hayes album, except he would be called Ibis Hayes.
