Despite the widespread use of the shorthand “Ground Zero Mosque,” the mosque and community center planned for 51 Park Place would, in fact, be over two blocks away from ground zero. This is not new information, but it’s one thing to think about the distance on a map and another to see what it’s like at the street level.
