When first-year high-school teacher Ilene Feldman was scheduled to have her classroom observed not long after she received a bad performance review, she faced a difficult choice: prepare a kick-ass lesson plan and show the school’s ill-informed administrators that she knows how to engage, inspire, and enlighten her students, or, pretend to fall down the stairs, go to the hospital, and file for four days of injury compensation. She allegedly chose the latter, according to investigators who, unfortunately for Feldman, have a videotape of her “fall.”
