Well, not everyone enjoyed Stephen Colbert’s testimony before Congress last week. “I think it was an embarrassment for Mr. Colbert more than the House,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, said on Fox News Sunday this morning. “What he had to say was not the way it should have been said.” Steve King, a Republican from Iowa, said: “I think that he mocked the hearing process,” which seems to miss the point. But leave it to Nancy Pelosi to have a sense of humor about this sort of thing. “He comes before the committee, he has a point of view, he can bring attention to an important issue like immigration,” the House Speaker said. “I think it’s great.” [NYDN]
