What Do Angelina Jolie and Sarah Palin Have In Common?

They both disapprove of Terry Jones’ plans to hold a Koran-burning celebration on September 11! Jolie, currently in Pakistan after the recent flooding, said she can’t even fathom the small Florida church’s plans: “I have hardly the words that somebody would do that to somebody’s religious book.” Sarah Palin also spoke out against the demonstration, comparing the burning with the plan to build a mosque near Ground Zero.

Book burning is antithetical to American ideals,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation - much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.”

Also joining the “don’t burn the Koran” bandwagon: The Vatican, the NYPD and Attorney General Eric Holder.

The FBI is concerned that the act might result in an attack and retaliation from Islamic extremists. There has already been a response to Jones’ announcement from a known terrorist website, with responses from forum members such as, “I wish to detonate myself in this church now. … I want to become a martyr and detonate myself in this filthiest filth.”

Jones, “a grizzled 58-year-old who packs a .40-caliber pistol on his hip,” said he has has no plans to cancel the event, which the church is calling “International Burn a Koran Day. “As of this time, we have no intention of canceling,” he said, “We are not convinced that backing down is the right thing, so on Sept. 11 we will continue with our planned event.”
