Despite acknowledging that she “really wanted to run” for Kirsten Gillibrand’s Senate seat, Diana Taylor doesn’t regret turning down the opportunity because of her position as Mayor Bloomberg’s girlfriend, she told us at today’s Power Lunch for Women at the Pierre hotel. “It was not the right time for me,” she said. And, she added, she may have a political future yet. “Never say never!” After all, Bloomberg’s not going to be mayor forever. (We don’t think?!?) What will he do next? Does she think he should run for president, as it is often rumored he will? “Personally?” she asked. Yeah. “That’s an interesting question. As a taxpayer, yes, absolutely. As a friend, different story.”
