One of the many Republicans mulling a run for president in 2012 is Mississippi governor Haley Barbour, a man most people in the country have never heard of but who gained prestige within the GOP for his stewardship of the Republican Governor’s Association during the midterm election season. Barbour won’t say yet whether he’s going to run, but he does hope that Mayor Bloomberg “won’t even consider” it, since Barbour suspects he will “draw votes away” from the Republican nominee. Sorry Barbour, but if a pro-choice, pro-gay, pro-ground-zero mosque, anti-gun, non-religious, unmarried New Yorker is more attractive to Republican voters than the Republican nominee, the GOP will have nobody to blame but themselves.
