State Department Memo Forbids Staffers From Reading WikiLeaks Docs at Home

A State Department memo sent to all staffers at the State Department’s Consular Affairs-Passport division informs the employees within that department that they’re not permitted to access WikiLeaks documents “during business hours or on their personal time.” Previous State Department memos (and the Air Force ban) only explicitly specified that staffers steer clear of the classified docs while they’re hard at work for the government and using state facilities. Sigh! This sort of measure can only make leakers think widespread leaks about government secrets are even more necessary. [Gawker]
