Former CNN Correspondent Jerrold Kessel Dies

CNN's former Jeruselem correspondent Jerrold Kessel passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 65. Kessel was with the network from 1990 to 2003, serving as a major voice on Mideast politics. He covered both the assassination of Yitzak Rabin and the Israeli-Palestinian Oslo Accords. His expansive knowledge of the Middle East — a place he lived and worked for more than 40 years — made him a favorite with network producers. "Jerrold was an expert on the Israeli-Palestinian story, and managed to explain the complicated politics of the Mideast on our air for so many years," said Parisa Khosravi, CNN's senior vice-president of international newsgathering.
