Bad News for Home Composters Who Eat SunChips!

Consumer Reports has released the results of some recent tests it ran on claims made about various products, and as you might have guessed, many of them do not live up to expectations. The most surprising (and obnoxious) result is that those ear-damagingly loud, supposedly 100 percent compostable SunChips bags are not so compostable after all.

We put it through a three-month test. We used a home compost pile, the kind most home owners would have and we watered it, we used woodchips, and grass. After three months we saw barely any difference.

But don’t lose faith in corporate America altogether. Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, Forearm Forklift Lifting Straps, and the Masterbuilt Butterball Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer all received rave reviews and are probably about as biodegradable as a bag of SunChips.
