Donald Trump Vastly Overestimates America’s Post-Apprentice Appetite for Donald Trump

This morning on Fox & Friends, Fox News contributor regular guest Donald Trump said the following, when asked if he would enter the 2012 presidential race if he didn’t like the field of GOP candidates:

I would not rule it out. I can’t rule out anything. The country is so important and it’s so vital we choose the right person and at this moment I don’t see that person … The ones that have announced, I just don’t see it. At this point in time, they aren’t going to be beating Obama.

Okay, whether or not he’s right about the current crop of GOP candidates, Trump notably did rule out a run. This is merely a return to his usual attention-grabbing ways. Just as has been the case this whole time, he’s not going to run for president. And from now on, we’re going to try to avoid covering his periodic grunts in that direction. But just so you know, even if you don’t hear about it, there’s probably a good chance that Trump is somewhere telling somebody he should be the leader of the free world.
