Who’s your favorite New Yorker, living or dead, real or fictional?
My favorite New Yorker happens to be my husband, Denzel Washington.

What’s the best meal you’ve eaten in New York?
One that I prepared: fresh fillet of flounder sauteed, rappini, and tomato salad.

In one sentence, what do you actually do all day in your job?
Presently, my schedule goes something like this: early morning workout, prepare my meals, go to the theater to rehearse, and then showtime.

What was your first job in New York?
It was through a temp agency. I was placed as a typist at the Equitable Life Company.

What’s the last thing you saw on Broadway?
Jerusalem. It was at my daughter’s suggestion I see it. She, a drama student at NYU, saw it and was so excited. She was correct. I enjoyed it very much!

Do you give money to panhandlers?
I do give money to panhandlers, but my husband and I [also] have several charities where we are hands-on and have such a ways to go to reach our goals. I prefer to give there.

What’s your drink?
Fresh Ginger Ale with Hibiscus and Pomegranate. I wanted something different from my norm, so I went to the Garage Grocery and saw the glass bottle with the ginger actually settled at the bottom. I tried it, and I am hooked!

How often do you prepare your own meals?
Since I have four children and a husband who enjoys my cooking, I prepare almost all of our meals in our home. Even when I’m alone, I am most satisfied, doing it myself.

What’s your favorite medication?
Don’t know if I can say I have a favorite medication. But Vitamin C is surely a preventative that is staple in our house.

What’s hanging above your sofa?
My husband has collected beautiful art by some incredible artists. Over one of the couches in our home is a trilogy done by Richard Yarde. He did it just for that space.

How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
$200.00.

When’s bedtime?
I’m an early riser so midnight or 1 a.m.

Which do you prefer, the old Times Square or the new Times Square?
I prefer the old Times Square, basically because of the wonderful memories I have.

What do you think of Donald Trump?
I don’t know. I’m confused.

What do you hate most about living in New York?
To use the word “hate” is pretty strong, but I do not like the impatience that exists here. So many people and limited space contribute to this, but it still annoys me.

Who is your mortal enemy?
Jealousy.

When’s the last time you drove a car?
Two months ago when in L.A.

How has the Wall Street crash affected you?
Observing panic and fear in people. Panic mode took place and it seems we, the superior beings on this earth, forgot what is most important. My relationship with God is where I draw strength and hope.

Times, Post, or Daily News?
The Times. My parents were educators and it was stressed in our house to stay up on current affairs and the Times was for us the best source.

Where do you go to be alone?
My apartment. I have a beautiful space, great vibes, lots of candles.

What makes someone a New Yorker?
[You] believe there’s nowhere else.
