Armed Western Men Spotted Hanging Out in Libya

The latest development in the forgotten war in Libya: Late last week, Al Jazeera filmed six westerners — five of them armed — fraternizing with fighters in the rebel-held city of Misurata. The mystery men, which Al Jazeera suspects were British, "left hurriedly" after noticing the cameras, and for good reason: The United Nations mandate authorizing military action in Libya expressly forbids a "foreign occupation force of any form on any part of Libyan territory." While a group of six dudes doesn't sound like it fits the definition of a "foreign occupation force," it's still "evidence for the first time of allied boots on the ground." Hey, as long as they're not American boots.
