Earlier this week, worried reports circulated that an anti-government blogger writing under the pen name A Gay Girl in Damascus had gone missing, just as the situation in Syria turned even more violent. NPR's Andy Carvin wasn't so sure that the story added up, though — no one had actually seen or spoken to the woman, Amina Abdallah Arrah, among other things, and her purported photo was stolen from a woman in London. Today, a possible smoking gun for the hoax: The site that helped Amina set up and publicize her blog now says that they've learned she's a 35-year-old lesbian living in Scotland.
