Nearly One in Five Republicans Wouldn’t Vote for a Mormon

All Americans on which types of people they are biased against.

As much as Democrats like to think of the GOP as the party of bigotry, Democrats are more likely to refuse to vote for a Mormon for president than Republicans, a Gallup poll shows. Nevertheless, the problem for Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman is Republican hostility to their religion, as 18 percent of Republicans say they would never vote for a Mormon. That reluctance will certainly dissipate, to some degree, under the threat of another Obama term, but if it doesn't, Romney and Huntsman would begin the general election at an enormous disadvantage. But at least they're not atheists, who have about the same chance of getting elected as Voldemort.
