Obama to Announce Afghanistan Troop Withdrawal Plans in Speech Tomorrow Night
He's said to still be weighing a few options, including the Pentagon-backed plan to withdraw 5,000 troops this year. He's also considering setting a final date for pulling all surge forces sometime next year and leaving the rate of withdrawal up to field commanders, or going further and pledging to remove all of those 30,000 troops from the 2009 surge on a strict twelve-month schedule.
