Pot-Possession Consequences Take a Hit

The New York Connecticut State Senate voted yesterday to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, and Governor Dannel MalloyAndrew Cuomo, who pushed for the bill, will sign it into law. First-time offenders caught with less than half an ounce of the drug will face fines of $150, rather than possible jail time, and the under-21 crowd will additionally have their driver’s licenses suspended for two months.
