Today was a historic day throughout New York State as hundreds of gay couples finally were able to legally wed. About 800 gay and straight couples entered a lottery for the chance to be married today. In the end, about 300 braved the humidity and threatening skies (not to mention a few dozen protestors) in lower Manhattan to get hitched, but the vast majority were gay couples ready to tie the knot ASAP. It was a wrap-around-the-block crowd at the City Clerk’s office, and we spoke to a few of the happy couples patiently zigzagging through a Disneyland-style line as they prepared to say “We do.” Watch our video after the jump.
