James Whittemore Isn’t Quite Sure How Much He Drank Before He Trashed the Ed Sullivan Theater
When the 22-year-old actor/bartender was arrested earlier this summer for damaging the the home of the Late Show to the tune of $2,000, he did what countless people do every day: blamed it on the alcohol. But exactly how much do you have to drink before kicking in the brass-and-glass doors of an 85-year-old midtown landmark starts to seem like a good idea? It seems we’ll never know. Today in court, Whittemore said that, on the night in question, he visited four bars and downed "at least" two six-packs and "several" shots of Jack Daniel's before losing count. [NYP]
