Steve Jobs Met His Biological Father Without Knowing It
In a preview of an interview set to air on CBS's 60 Minutes tonight, Jobs's biographer Walter Isaacson reveals that Steve Jobs met his biological father — Syrian-born Abdulfattah "John" Jandali — without ever realizing it. Jandali, now a Reno casino manager, was a coffee-shop manager when his daughter, also given up for adoption, tracked him down. According to Isaacson, he reminisced with her about the times he'd met Steve Jobs, not knowing it was his son at the time.
I wish you could have seen me when I was running a bigger restaurant
Everybody used to come there
Even Steve Jobs used to eat there. Yeah, he was a great tipper.
The two were ultimately made aware of each others' identities, and Jandali even e-mailed Jobs a few times, but never struck up the nerve to call. Seems the two never spoke or met before Jobs's passing.
