MF Global Lays Off 1,066 Employees
The broker–dealer unit of the bankrupt commodities and derivatives trading firm got rid of 1,066 employees today as a trustee works to dismantle the company in the wake of its crash and the subsequent resignation of CEO Jon Corzine. The laid-off workers will be paid through Tuesday and receive no severance.
