Al Qaeda Claims an American Hostage in Pakistan

Al Qaeda claims to be holding hostage 70-year-old Warren Weinstein, an aid worker living in Pakistan, who was abducted at gunpoint from his home in Lahore on August 13. U.S. officials say this is entirely possible, but nothing's been confirmed.

In exchange for Weinstein's release, Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri demanded that the U.S. stop airstrikes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen, and release Taliban suspects held worldwide.
