With voting in Iowa less than two weeks away, long-shot GOP candidate Rick Santorum figured it was as good a time as any to channel a VH1 show from the late-nineties (currently undergoing an underwhelming comeback). But instead of quips about Janet Jackson's abs, Santorum's new 60-second spot plays up his family values and conservative voting record in goofy little lo-fi bubbles: "Rick is very good at passing … LEGISLATION that is," for instance. "Rick also wrote the law that ended partial birth abortions." It's the bubble-popping sound effect that really makes it.
