Today in Ballsy Shoe-Throwing

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad flashes the V-sign for victory as he waits for the arrivak of Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Khaled bin Mohammed al-Attiyah in Tehran on October 13, 2011. AFP PHOTO/ATTA KENARE (Photo credit should read ATTA KENARE/AFP/Getty Images)

An unemployed Iranian textile worker, identified by local press as Rashid S., threw his shoes at President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a ceremony yesterday. The shoes missed their intended target, as hurled shoes often do. It appears that chucking objects at Iranian presidents is just Rashid S.'s shtick: He's previously been imprisoned for "throwing eggs and tomatoes at former President Mohammad Khatami."
