Warren Buffett Wants to Save America With a Pledge Drive

NEW YORK, NY - SEPTEMBER 30: Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett stands on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange after ringing the opening bell on September 30, 2011 in New York City. U.S. President Barack Obama's new plan for a higher tax rate for millionaires has been dubbed the "Buffett Rule" in reference to the billionaire investor, who supports the plan. Stop worrying about America's cash shortage. As if this whole fiscal crisis were a Disney Channel movie, a kindly old man with lots of extra money and charming glasses is going to step in and fix the problem! How?

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett has a challenge for congressional Republicans: For every dollar one donates to the Uncle Sam to help pay down the debt, he will match it. Buffett will even triple every donation sent it by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell.

And if someone named "John Boehner" calls in to make a donation, he'll throw in a tote bag.
