John King began the forty-seventh Republican candidate debate with a question for Newt Gingrich about the highly controversial ABC News interview set to air only two hours after the debate wraps. Washed with anger, Gingrich fired back at King, ridiculing him for his decision to begin a presidential debate on the topic. King then pointed at ABC News, the network airing the interview in which Marianne Gingrich is expected to say that Newt wanted an open marriage with her. “You and your staff chose to start the debate with this!” Gingrich nearly shouted, adding that he was appalled. Of course Newt also called the story false and vicious and accused the liberal, elite, Obama-coddling media for aiming to take down Republicans with interviews of the kind. And then in a rare moment of solidarity, Mitt Romney chimed in, saying,”John, let’s get to the real issues.” Watch it below.
