CVS Accidentally Dispenses Breast Cancer Drugs to New Jersey Kids

A CVS pharmacy in Chatham, New Jersey, dispensed Tamoxifen, a drug used to treat breast cancer, instead of 0.5 mg chewable fluoride tablets to children in as many as 50 families. The pharmacy admitted the inadvertent swap lasted for nearly three full months, from December 1 until February 20. A doctor told MSNBC that Tamoxifen, which blocks the female hormone estrogen, is unlikely to cause “serious or adverse effects” when used for a short period of time. But how did this go on for three months? Is there a child out there who chewed these non-chewable tablets the whole time? Or did they all get really good at faking it?
